Art Is Hard By Cursive.
This was a project for PreAP Art 3, we had to pick a song and do a collage for it. Our teacher had insisted that there be no open space - which I simply don't agree with. Any good collage knows when open/blank space is okay. just because something's filled doesn't mean it's full. Anyways. I chose this song because Sarah [link] is in love with the band and used to make me listen to it all the time. Plus - the song's pretty great. The Basics This piece was originally done on card board and is pretty close to 16in x 20in (40.64cm x 50.8cm) .. It's all magazine clippings, and something I cut off of a lightbulb box. Also, a little bit of white acrylic paint, some hair spray, some glue that helped with the spotty texture, and some black sharpie. The Purpose There's a certain umbrella for what falls under 'art' and what doesn't. The problem is that the umbrella doesn't have specific guidelines for where that line is or not. It's just light vs shadow - what is included and what isn't. And everyone's umbrella is slightly differently shaped... The lightbulb, the light bulb is a secret. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
